Two of the most powerful people in chips sat on a stage this week and said, more or less, that AI is underwater. Hock Tan of Broadcom put the numbers on it. The world now spends roughly $200B a year generating tokens, and those tokens bring in roughly $150B of value. Most companies, he said, can't find any return at all. They're spending tokens the way a kid spends arcade money, and they're learning about as much. I don't think that's a model problem. The models are extraordinary. It's a cost problem, and underneath the cost problem is a power problem. Lip-Bu Tan of Intel said it plainly. GPUs are power hungry, which is why AI needs so much energy. He also said the next frontier is neuromorphic: designs that work more like a brain and don't need anywhere near as much power. Then Hock added the part I keep thinking about. A standard GPU is one size fits all, and one size fits all isn't the most efficient. Hardware built for one workload can beat a general GPU while drawing a fracti…
Damn forgot to celebrate this! 🔥🤩 This is the goal, getting my startup to show on Google, getting traffic organically I don't want my startup to be tied 100% to me posting on X Organic traffic is where continued success lies
What if your project is growing… but your infrastructure can’t keep up? Growth shouldn’t come with guesswork. That’s the idea behind ScaleSensor. We’re building for a future where scaling is smarter, not harder. More soon. What do you think breaks first when growth takes off?
anyone else spent some time exploring alive internet theory? it was presented to me (obviously as an anti-thesis to dead internet theory) by my cousin accidentally listed on their profile i love it and its the sort of hopeful sh*t that keeps me going alivetheory.net
Opus 5.5 (left) vs Deepseek-v4.1-Flash-1017 (right) Genuinely impressed by Deepseek. However, lets not start trying to compare it to Opus. Also, it took over 4 hours to make that, Opus took 40 minutes.
why does astra insist on putting these everywhere?

with AI it's becoming ever more important to validate your idea before building you can go so fast now, that picking the wrong direction will get you really far off track choose wisely
As much as I respect Chinese-made AI models and hardware, I'm equally puzzled by how rough most of the software still is. Whether it's Wechat or Alipay or HarmonyOS. You'd think getting unique aesthetics, perfect fidelity, and great flows would be "easy", but clearly it is not.
People have escaped the TL and are asking me for resets on the street now. I’ll make little cards to hand out
they've been non stop trying to attack our systems for the past 48 hours a side effect is everything is getting hardened but damn we basically need agents going 24/7 because that's what they have
Prompt of the day: Create a pre-commit hook that prevents files over 5,000 tokens. Tokens = bytes/4. Run only on staged files. Ignore files which are not authored by agents, like lockfiles or codegen. Provide explicit instructions on how to split files in the error message. The simplest investment I ever made in my codebase. So good.
